What this tool measures
Ping sends small packets to a host and times how long each round trip takes. The average tells you baseline latency, the min and max show how stable the path is, jitter measures the variation between packets, and loss counts packets that never came back. Together they tell you whether a host is reachable and how healthy the connection to it is.

Why is my ping higher than expected?
Latency depends on physical distance, the number of network hops, and congestion along the way. A host on another continent will always show higher round-trip times than one nearby, even when both are perfectly healthy.
What is jitter?
Jitter is how much the round-trip time varies between packets. Low jitter means a steady connection. High jitter can cause problems for real-time traffic like calls and video even when average latency looks fine.
Does this use ICMP ping?
